American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Amazing bagels! They are so soft and the cream cheese was really good too. The pack of 3 bagels with 1 shmear is a good price and can be split between two people. This location has pretty limited seating but there is some outdoor seating.

I was soooo excited for this bagel store to open. There’s obviously a huge void that nobody is filling with the bagel market in Charlotte. The whole concept is very gentrified unfortunately and just a total nightmare from an experience perspective. They can’t just sell you a single bagel. You have to buy 3 minimum which is $14. I love the concept of rip and dip and the cream cheese rocks, and the bagels are hot and really good. But they do go stale fast. So you have 3 bagels that you didn’t need, and you have to eat them today. It’s really chaotic inside, as there is so much demand for these bagels and they can’t keep up with the oven size so it’s just everyone waiting for the bagels to cook and employees staring at the oven. Maybe a ok problem for a business to have, but not for a customer. Everyone’s standing in a huddle waiting for their bagels on the weekends. The parking situation deters me from coming here - I know that’s more of a commonwealth issue though it’s just sad we have to pay to park and there’s very few free spots out front. Pop up does have a 45 min extension for the garage which is nice but just another experience hurdle to me. Too much to think about. I’ll st

PopUp Bagels is a fantastic addition to Plaza Midwood and one of the best spots for fresh bagels in Charlotte. While they’re not traditional New York City bagels, they’re easily comparable to some of the best I’ve had in the area. Each bagel had a beautiful golden crust, a perfectly chewy interior, and incredible flavor without needing a pile of toppings. The everything bagel was outstanding, and the scallion cream cheese absolutely stole the show—packed with flavor and worth ordering. I also grabbed a sesame bagel and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. The only drawback is the price. About $15 for three bagels and a small container of cream cheese is definitely a splurge, but the quality, freshness, and craftsmanship help justify it for an occasional treat. The staff was genuinely warm and welcoming, service was quick, and the space is bright, modern, and inviting. It’s exactly the kind of neighborhood spot Plaza Midwood needed. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast or picking up bagels to take home, PopUp Bagels is absolutely worth a visit. I’m so happy they’re in Charlotte, and I’ll definitely be back.

There were a ton of people around but the staff flew through them and there was no wait. Very friendly. Delicious bagels. They remind me very much of the ones my daughter-in-law brings from New York when she goes up for work. The place was hopping, good vibe.

I was genuinely looking forward to supporting your business and having you open a storefront in my neighborhood—until now. Your location shares an already limited amount of street parking with at least six other businesses. Despite that, your owner has chosen to occupy one of the few 10-minute parking spaces with a vehicle that's covered by a tarp for over a week now. Meanwhile, customers and employees of surrounding businesses are ticketed and towed for far less. What's especially frustrating is that there's a parking deck immediately beside your storefront and a large parking lot behind it. According to security staff, they were even instructed to keep an eye on the vehicle, suggesting this isn't an oversight but an intentional decision. In a neighborhood like Plaza Midwood, where parking is already a daily challenge, this sends a disappointing message. It suggests that the convenience of one person is more important than the needs of the surrounding businesses, their customers, and the community you're hoping to become a part of. First impressions matter. Respect for the neighborhood starts long before your doors open. And as for the slogan on the car—"Not famous but known"
